OCCU 240 - Occupational Therapy Conditions Credits 3

OCCU 340 - Assessment in Occupational Therapy Credits 3-4
An overview of the different assessments that are used to evaluate the occupational performance across various populations and conditions, including pediatric, geriatric, mental health, cognitive, and physical assessments. Class activities include hands-on practice in clinical techniques necessary for occupational therapy assessments. Note(s): Formerly BIOS 340. Grade Mode: A.

OCCU 344 - Practices in Occupational Therapy Interventions Credits 3-4
This foundational course will provide an overview of different occupational therapy interventions commonly used to treat occupational performance difficulties for diverse populations and conditions in various treatment settings across the lifespan. Occupational interventions selected for this class are presented in association with prevailing models of practice and practice frameworks. Class activities include hands-on practice of interventions covered in lecture. Note(s): Formerly BIOS 344. Grade Mode: A.

OCCU 465 - Special Topics in Occupational Therapy Credits 1-4
Selected topics of current interest and concern in occupational therapy are studied. Note(s): Course may be taken multiple times for credit with different content (section title); course may have a lecture and lab component (for example 3 credit lecture; 1 credit lab). Grade Mode: A.

OCCU 475 - Occupational Therapy Capstone Credit 1
A culmination course where students bring together their understanding of the field with their developed ability to think critically and integrate their faith. Students will produce a portfolio that includes a literature review, a research proposal, a career pathway that details their academic and professional goals, and an integration paper. Note(s): Formerly BIOS 475. Grade Mode: A.
Prerequisite(s): OCCU 340 or OCCU 344 or BIOS 345.

OCCU 480 - Internship in Occupational Therapy Credits 1-2
Professionally supervised participation in pre-approved research or a project at an off-campus site. Documentation of the time spent and the activities performed as well as a written paper explaining the project are required. Note(s): Special approval required; a minimum of forty-five hours of involvement; may be taken twice for a maximum of 2 credits. Grade Mode: A.

OCCU 490 - Directed Research Credits 1-2
Literature and laboratory or field research of a specific subject or technique in occupational therapy; advanced students gain experience in experimental design, laboratory investigation and technical writing.
